Yahoo Finance Ben Affleck "Reached Out To Jennifer [Lopez] As A Friend" Before Her Official Split From Alex Rodriguez
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have been keeping in touch every day since their reported week-long trip to Montana.
The exes are reportedly making plans for their future together, according to sources who spoke to People for a piece published on Friday.
"[Jennifer] is in touch with Ben every day," a source close to Lopez told the magazine. "They are making plans to see each other. Jennifer is still very excited about how things are going with Ben."
For now, however, the 51-year-old singer and actress is "spending time with her kids in Miami," according to the source, who adds that she "has been working, too."
In another piece People published later in the day on Friday, a source with intel on Affleck's side of things weighed in on the reunion—and revealed that the actor actually reached out to Lopez in March, when she and ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez making a final attempt to work things out in their relationship.
"Ben reached out to Jennifer as a friend," the source said. "He was basically checking up on her. He was single and thought she might be single, too."
Affleck appears to have initially reached out to Lopez after rumors that she and Rodriguez had split circulated this spring, but before the power couple officially announced that they had split in April. Affleck, for his part, had been single for several months at the time, having split from Ana de Armas in January after 10 months of dating.
"It was in no way disrespectful, because he really thought she wasn't with Alex anymore," the source stressed to People of Affleck's intentions in reconnecting with Lopez.
