Barkerville Announces the First Month Mining Update, Five Gold Doré Bars Poured

VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / April 22, 2014 / Kevin McMurren, Mine Manager for Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. ("Barkerville" or the "Company") reported today an update on milling operations at its QR Mill facility near Quesnel, British Columbia.

After commencing operations at the QR Mill (the "Mill") on March 12th, 2014, stable processing rates have been achieved. The Mill is operating two shifts per day, 7 days per week and has processed an average of 534 tonnes per day for the month of April.

As of Saturday, April 19th five gold dore bars have been poured with a total weight of 948.78 ounces from ore extracted from the Company's QR Mine in 2013. The dore bars will be transported for sale to Johnson Matthey, a gold refiner located in Brampton, Ontario.

Barkerville President and CEO J. Frank Callaghan stated "Management is pleased with operations at the Mill; gold recoveries have improved achieving an average recovery of 86.7% in the first month of operation. The Mill continues to process ore from last year's QR mining and will soon start processing Bonanza Ledge ore."
