The Bachelorette 's Andi Dorfman Talks Clare Crawley's 'Derailed' Season and Dale Moss Split

The Bachelorette's Clare Crawley Breaks Silence After Dale Moss Split: 'The Truth Is I Am Crushed'

"I was made aware of a 'mutual' statement at the same time you all were, so I've needed some time to really digest this," she said

Former Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman is revealing whether or not she was surprised to see Clare Crawley and Dale Moss go their separate ways.

Dorfman — who competed against Crawley for Juan Pablo Galavis' love on season 18 of The Bachelorette — appeared on Tuesday's episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen where she addressed the recent split and noted her thoughts on Crawley giving the dating show another shot.

"I mean, yeah, it did get derailed," Dorfman, 33, said of Crawley's Bachelorette season.

Last year, Crawley, 39, decided to cut her Bachelorette experience short to be with Moss and accepted his proposal during episode four of season 16, with Tayshia Adams ultimately taking over.

Asked by a fan whether Crawley should give being the Bachelorette another shot, Dorfman said, "It's hard to do it again, but I thought her season was good!"

"I thought it was off to a nice, good, kind of crazy, train wreck of a start — which is what you always want in a Bachelorette — and it ended in a fairy tale, which is also what you always want," she continued.

As for Dorfman's thoughts on Crawley and Moss' breakup, the Bachelor Nation star stayed mostly mum.

"I wouldn't say I'm surprised or not surprised, I try to not get in anyone's business. I come from a failed engagement from that show, so I try to kind of support whether it fails or succeeds, to be honest," she said, referring to her split from Josh Murray a year after the pair got engaged during her Bachelorette finale.

Moss, 32, announced the end of his short engagement to Crawley on Instagram this month, days before she confirmed the breakup in her own post.

"I wanted share with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways," he said. "We appreciate the love and support we've received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time."

He continued, "We strongly believe in leading with love and always remaining true to oneself — something our families have taught and instilled in us throughout our lives. We only hope the best things for one another."

In her own post, Crawley acknowledged that their "relationship was not perfect," but said she "was genuinely invested with all of my heart."

"Speaking for myself, my intentions with this relationship have always been very clear, so the truth is I am crushed," she wrote on Instagram.

"This was not what I expected or hoped for and am still trying to process this," she continued. "2020 was one hell of a year, with COVID, battling severe anxiety post-show, balancing a public new relationship, all while slowly losing my mother. It hasn't been ideal circumstances, but that is life right. I have been looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel."

Following the news, a source told PEOPLE that Moss was not ready for the next steps in his relationship with Crawley.

"Dale wasn't ready for marriage and kids," the source said. "He did have feelings for Clare but he wasn't on the same page as her."

According to the source, Crawley "was really hoping he would grow in the relationship and come around," but "things only got tougher after the show when they had to start making big life decisions."
