Austin's 'Castle in the Woods' Ups Price in Bid to Attract Buyer

Location: Austin, Texas
Price: $10,900,000
The Skinny: Built over the course of five years and completed in 2002, this Texas castle incorporates Gothic arches, Tuscan stonework, and Moorish domes into one seriously eclectic—some might say architecturally confused—personal palace. Sprawling over 13,600 square feet, the Castle in the Woods sits on a prime four-acre lot inside the Barton Creek development, a luxury resort with four 18-hole golf courses and a full-suite resort amenities. Of course, one need not leave the castle to indulge in some of Austin's most extravagant features, including gym, media room, wine cellar, elevator, hot tub, swimming pool, nine-car garage, seven bedrooms, and 10 bathrooms. Listed earlier this year for $7.9M, the Castle in the Woods recently had its price raised by $3M, to $10.9M.
