Apple Rolls Out macOS Sierra 10.12.2 Beta 6

Developers and public beta testers can now download and install the latest pre-release beta version of macOS Sierra 10.12.2.

Apple is not done with the macOs Sierra 10.12.2 update just yet, but ahead of its official release, the Cupertino giant is rolling out a new pre-release beta version to developers and public beta testers. Given that this is already the sixth beta build, it’s only a matter of time until Tim Cook’s company launches the official update that is reportedly slated for release this December.

On Thursday, MacRumors learned that Samsung’s biggest rival is once again seeding a new beta of the macOS Sierra 10.12.2 update. This new build comes just days after the fifth version was released for public beta testing and more than a month since macOS 10.12.1 arrived on different MacBook models.

For developers, they can download the macOS Sierra 10.12.2 beta 6 directly from the Apple Developer Center. They may also choose to just update their device that’s already running the previous beta build through the Software Update mechanism found in the Mac App Store.

On the other hand, public beta testers can obtain this new version as an over-the-air update. They may do so by just looking for the Software Update button on their beta-running device. General consumers who want to be part of the growing number of public beta participants should register to the Apple Beta Software Program. They are advised to use a secondary device for beta testing since beta versions of updates usually have bugs and certain issues.

Though Apple has yet to reveal the specific release date of macOS Sierra 10.12.2, the update’s features have already been leaked thanks to the previous beta builds. As per AppleInsider, the upcoming update contains a lot of bug fixes, a new set of Unicode 9.0 emojis and other tweaks and enhancements.

As previously reported, Apple confirmed an issue with the wired connection of its new MacBook Pros that was causing laptops to crash. A fix for this problem already arrived with the previous beta build, so general consumers who are experiencing this issue with their MacBook Pros will feel relieved when the official macOS 10.12.2 update arrives.
