We here at BoldRide are quite familiar with the name Afzal Kahn. The British customizer has been known to roll out very unique and sinister versions of Land Rovers, BMWs and more. But it seems Kahn must have been tired of customizing other people’s rides, and has decided to team up with another firm to create a car of their own.
Afzul Kahn has joined forces with Ant Anstead to create Ant-Kahn, with plans to build two very impressive looking models. Anstead is a restoration expert and the host of the UK’s “For the Love of Cars.” These are two important people in particular circles of the automotive world, and as such, their collective creation should be impressive.
The first project is called the Hunstman 4X4, and you can clearly see its Land Rover DNA. It is based on the LR Defender, but features a hood that is 15 inches longer to make room for a 550-horsepower V8 engine. That engine is mated to a 6-speed electronic gearbox sending power to all-wheel drive. Kahn is calling the Huntsman the “world’s fastest Land Rover.” We’d love to test that claim.
Unlike the Landie-based Huntsman, the retro roadster will not be based on an existing vehicle. It will be a clean sheet design, but with design elements from classic Ferraris, Aston Martins and Jaguars. This European built car will have American power, though, via a 450-horsepower LS3 V8.
Future plans for Ant-Kahn include restyled and revamped versions of the Aston Martin WB12 and Aston Martin Vanquish. In conclusion, this is a new car company that we are going to watch very closely.
