Andy Murray celebrates dad's wedding in his luxury Dunblane hotel

Andy Murray recently made the trip back to Scotland for a very special occasion – his father's wedding. The World Number 1 tennis star attended the intimate ceremony and watched as his dad Willie exchanged vows with long-term partner Sam Watson.

The ceremony took place at Cromlix House, the luxury five-star hotel that Andy owns, located three miles from Dunblane where he grew up. Andy, 29, was joined by his brother Jamie, 30, and both looked dapper in tartan kilts, white shirts, waistcoats and black bow ties.

The venue holds a special place in the brothers' hearts. Both Andy and Jamie chose to marry their partners – Kim and Alejandra respectively – at Cromlix in 2015 and 2010.

Their dad Willie has been in a relationship with his new wife Sam for more than a decade. They started dating after Willie's divorce to Judy Murray in 2005. Willie popped the question in Christmas 2014.

It's not known whether Andy's wife Kim attended the wedding. She may well have been at home in England looking after the couple's daughter Sophia, who turns one in February. But Sophia was clearly on her dad's mind as Andy spent the morning of the wedding making balloon animals.

His mother Judy posted a photo of the Wimbledon champ holding a yellow balloon dog and captioned it: "A rare morning with Andy. Christmas shopping +....balloon modelling. I kid u not. We learned from you tube. As u do."

The pair made the most of Andy's time in Scotland by catching up. They enjoyed a coffee break from Christmas shopping in Stirling city, where Andy also stopped to take photos with fans. "More Stirling selfies for @andy_murray this morning. Feeling the local love," Judy captioned a photo of her son with his fans.

Andy's trip to his native Scotland comes just weeks after he was named World Number 1.
