Altona hailstorm results in 511 damaged vehicle claims to MPI

Friday's hailstorm in Altona, Man., has resulted in 511 damaged vehicle claims, according to Manitoba Public Insurance.

Large hailstones, including some that were the size of baseballs, pounded the south-central Manitoba town that morning.

- MPI received 300 hail claims from weekend storm (Aug. 24)

It's not yet known how much all the claims will cost, the public auto insurer said Monday.

The damaged vehicles, which include travel trailers and motor homes, will be assessed in the coming days.
