Yahoo Finance Alec Baldwin Deletes Twitter Account Following Tearful 'Rust' Interview
Article updated on 3/12/2021: Alec Baldwin has seemingly deleted his Twitter account days after giving his first major interview about a recent shooting incident on the set of his film Rust.
The tragedy, which occurred in October, resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injury of director Joel Souza.
The A-lister’s verified @AlecBaldwin account has since been removed from Twitter and is listed as 'this account doesn’t exist'.
In the interview with ABC News, the actor said: 'I would go to any lengths to undo what happened.'
Baldwin went on to say: 'I want to make sure that I don't come across like I'm the victim, because we have two victims here.'
The 65-year-old stressed that at the time of the shooting, he had assumed the gun was empty. He also expressed doubt that he'll play another a role in a film where guns are involved.
Since the interview aired, Baldwin has opened up about the reaction of his Hilaria, with whom he shares six children.
'No matter what happens to me. No matter what I suffer. If I win or lose, anything. Anything. No one can take away from me the joy and love you have given me. The world is choked with fumes of hate. But you have given me a reason to live. Our life with our family is all I care about. Nothing else. I owe that to you,' he recently wrote on Instagram.
In the time since the tragic event in October, the actor's wife has expressed her love for him on the social media platform.
'There are no words because it's impossible to express the shock and heartache of such a tragic accident. Heartbreak. Loss. Support, [sic]' she wrote on Instagram following the incident.

Alec Baldwin has accidentally killed a cinematographer and injured a director after he discharged a prop gun on the set of his new film, authorities confirm.
Reuters reports the Santa Fe Sheriff's Department has confirmed the actor shot photography director Halyna Hutchins and the film's director Joel Souza on location at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, New Mexico.
It’s believed Hutchins was immediately taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, Souza is currently undergoing treatment at Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical. It’s unknown at this stage what injuries he has incurred.
The Santa Fe Sheriff's Department has stated that no charges have been filed. The investigation into what happened on the set is ongoing and witnesses continue to be interviewed by detectives. The office said in a statement: ‘The investigation remains open and active.’
A spokesperson for Baldwin told Associated Press news agency the shooting involved the misfiring of a prop gun with blanks. The term 'blank’ is shortened from the term blank cartridge/shell - a tube or case which contains a bullet.
Baldwin is currently filming and co-producing the film titled Rust, which is set in the 1880s. The actor plays a grandfather of a 13-year-old boy who has been convicted of an accidental killing.
Hours before the prop gun firing the 63-year-old 30 Rock star reportedly shared a picture of himself on Instagram on the set of the film. ‘Back to in person at the office. Blimey … it's exhausting, [sic]’ he wrote, according to Reuters. The post has since been deleted.
Ukrainian-born Hutchins was a graduate of the American Film Institute and chosen to be one of the American Cinematographer's Rising Stars of 2019.
Earlier this week the 42-year-old shared a photo from the set of Rust with the caption: ‘One of the perks of shooting a western is you get to ride horses on your day off:) [sic]’
