Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Outpaces Stock Market Gains: What You Should Know

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) closed the most recent trading day at $51.43, moving +0.74% from the previous trading session. This change outpaced the S&P 500's 0.03% gain on the day. Meanwhile, the Dow lost 0.03%, and the Nasdaq, a tech-heavy index, added 0.14%.

Heading into today, shares of the chipmaker had gained 9.69% over the past month, outpacing the Computer and Technology sector's gain of 6.3% and the S&P 500's gain of 3.23% in that time.

The company is expected to report EPS of $0.30, up 275% from the prior-year quarter.
