Acura Highlights Racing Heritage with Latest TLX GT Package at SEMA Show
In early November, at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Acura will display a new TLX GT sport package that takes cues from parent Honda’s racing heritage to rev up interest in the premium brand’s sporty car model. The basic GT package, which lists for less than $1,800, can be ordered and is available at dealerships for both 2016 and 2017 TLX models.
The TLX GT package for the 5-passenger luxury car will include accessories that were featured on the TLX GT car that competed in the Pirelli World Challenge North American auto racing series. In October, the Acura TLX-GT finished in the top 10 at Mazda Raceway in Laguna Seca, CA, and the Acura team ended the season in fourth place in the Pirelli World Challenge GT Team Championship.
Acura’s TLX GT package elements include a rear decklid spoiler plus front, rear, and underbody spoilers for aerodynamics; design appointments on the door sills; and an optional set of 19-in. Diamond-cut alloy wheels plus performance tires.
For 2017, the TLX will be offered in several new colors and with a choice of three powerful engines.
