The Acclaimed MAKERS Conference To Launch First India Edition (Virtual) in March

MAKERS India is announcing its first-ever annual conference in India, based on the theme ‘Women Who Make India.’ Slated for March 12 and 13, the two-day conference will be held virtually owing to the ongoing global pandemic, and aims to be a milestone in India’s journey of gender equality at work.

The theme - Women Who Make India - has been inspired by the necessity to acknowledge and encourage Indian women making a mark across sectors.

Women have historically remained invisible in India’s rise, despite their valuable contributions and remarkable achievements.

But not any more.

As India aims to become a $5 trillion economy by 2025, the role of women can no longer be ignored, and this conference will bring together women who are building a better India.

Accelerating the Women’s Movement

The MAKERS Conference, India 2021 will bring together influential women leaders from diverse fields for the first time to explore ways to accelerate women’s equality. It will bring new perspectives to conversations that can propel action on themes like equality and inclusivity for women in the workplace.

The India edition of the conference will bring together women achievers, icons, and changemakers from various sectors. The speaker line-up includes distinguished names such as Padma Shri Rani Rampal, Captain of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team; accomplished writer, educator and Founder of Katha, Geeta Dharamrajan; critically acclaimed and multiple award-winning filmmaker Alankrita Shrivasatava; Political Activist and Founder, Femme First Foundation Angellica Aribam along with some of country’s top business leaders such as Malika Sadani, Founder and CEO, The MomsCo; Swati Bhargava, Co-Founder, CashKaro and EarnKaro; Namita Thapar, Executive Director, Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Megha Chawla,Partner, Bain & Company; and more.

Awarding Emerging Entrepreneurs

In addition to thought-provoking conversations, mentorship sessions, and workshops, the conference will also host the ‘Emerging Women Entrepreneurs Awards’ wherein business leaders and entrepreneurs from sectors of health and lifestyle, technology, and social impact will be honoured, along with women making a mark as influencers and young achievers.

Any woman entrepreneur with a registered business (registered on or before January 15, 2010) can apply for the awards.
