7 Places Where You Can Buy a Condo for Under $100K
A big yard, a picket fence, a shiny new car in the driveway — some might say those are parts of a picture-perfect American Dream. Of course, that's not for everyone, and it doesn't have to be. Buying a condo can make a lot of sense for someone who wants to own property but doesn't wan't (or have the option) to buy a house.
Regardless of what kind of property you're buying, it's probably going to be one of, if not the most, expensive purchases you'll ever make. Most people need to take out a home loan in order to do it, and in addition to having enough money saved up for a down payment, you'll also need to have pretty good credit to get mortgage approval. Even though a condo is a big-ticket item, affordable options exist. We looked at listings on real estate search site Zillow and rounded up 10 cities where you can buy a condo for $100,000 or less (not including things like closing costs, condominium association fees and property taxes).
