Described by Fiat as an urban utility vehicle, the 2016 500L is the extended-length version of the Fiat 500. It’s available in five trims (Pop, Easy, Trekking, Urbana, and Lounge), up to eight exterior colors, and up to four roof colors. The standard drivetrain is a turbocharged, 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that cranks out 160 horsepower and up to 184 lb.-ft. of torque, plus a 6-speed manual transmission with hill-start assist. The basic Pop trim comes in a choice of white, black, red, light grey, or dark grey, with power heated black exterior mirrors.

1) Easy trim adds three more exterior color options: mocha, pearl red, and dark green, as well as available white, black, or red roof as well as body color. Contrast-colored roofs come with matching mirror caps. The 500L Easy features 16-in. aluminum wheels, deep-tint rear sunscreen glass, and heated power body-color exterior mirrors. Trekking trim adds accent treatment for the front and rear fascias, wheel arches, and lower body sill cladding, black body side molding with bright inserts, and bright door handles.
2) Urbana trim features seven 2-tone exterior color combinations with a gloss black roof, plus matte black exterior accents (body side moldings, lower body panels, wheel arches, and front and rear fascias).
3) Lounge trim adds a heavy-duty 6-speed automatic transmission, plus 16-in. or available 17-in. accent painted aluminum wheels.
4) Standard safety features on the Pop trim include 7 air bags, 4-wheel disc brakes with electronic stability control, brake assist, traction control, and a security alarm system. Other standard features include remote keyless and illuminated entry and Uconnect 5.0 with a 5-in. full-color touch screen. Total interior volume is 121.1 cu. ft.
5) Available features include leather-trim interior with heated front seats and a driver seat with 4-way power lumbar adjustment, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and dual-zone automatic temperature control. A dual-pane power sunroof and various safety enhancements are also available.
