Yahoo Finance 2025 BMW 4-Series Models Get a New Mild-Hybrid System
The BMW 4-Series is one of many of the brand's models getting minor updates in this year's now-annual cycle of spring updates. A 48-volt mild-hybrid system increases horsepower to 386 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque on six-cylinder models, plus 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque on four-cylinder 4-Series variants. The newest update to the 4-Series comes with a few other minor updates as well, but do not get your hopes up about a new design for the front of the car. BMW is seemingly committed to two huge kidneys on the front of every 4-Series for the foreseeable future.
Inside, the 4-Series gets BMW Operating System 8.5 on its curved singular display. That brings a new home screen and a new menu structure that BMW says "takes its cue from consumer electronic devices," but the system is still controlled by BMW's familiar (and welcome) central control knob.
New laser taillights appear stacked within the housing, creating a compelling three-dimensional design. These are optional on four-cylinder variants, but standard on six-cylinder models.
New Vegas red and Cape York green metallic finishes highlight a range of ten colors for the car, although BMW Individual colors are also available as a separate option.
Overall design is relatively unchanged, including the massive kidney grilles at the front that have become the standard of the 4-Series range. While that may be an acquired taste, the design is one BMW has committed to from the beginning of this generation of 4-Series and M4.
