Yahoo Finance 2017 Volvo V90 To Be Unveiled February 18
Volvo is bringing out a new wagon reviving its V90 nameplate. The car will fill the void left by the V70 in the automaker’s lineup in the United States and we suspect there will be a V90 Cross Country soft-roader at some point to replace the aging XC70.
The V90 is essentially the 2017 Volvo S90 sedan in wagon form and photos depicting unmasked versions have already surfaced. Volvo today confirmed an official reveal will take place February 18 in Stockholm, Sweden. The world debut will take place March 1 at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

Common to the V90 is Volvo’s SPA platform already found in the S90 and XC90. Powertrains will also be shared. For the U.S., that should mean three options at launch: a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder in a T5; a supercharged and turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder in a T6; and a supercharged and turbocharged 2.0-liter four working with an electric drive system in a range-topping T8 Twin Engine. Outputs should range from 240 to 410 horsepower.
As mentioned above Volvo has had a V90 in the past. It was offered during the 1990s and started out life as part of the 900 series, Volvo’s last family of rear-wheel-drive cars.
Volvo is also quick to point out that it has a long history of serving up wagons. In fact, the first Volvo wagon was the Duett which was launched as far back as 1953. Since that day, Volvo has sold more than six million wagons worldwide, representing about a third of the automaker’s total production since it was established in 1927.
