2013 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain recalled for windshield wiper woes
General Motors has issued a recall for 367,808 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles from the 2013 model year. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that some of those vehicles may have a problem with their windshield wipers that could result in a loss of visibility while driving.

The problem is rooted in windshield wiper modules supplied by Mitsuba. NHTSA documents indicate that the ball joints in those modules may be prone to corrosion and wear, which could allow them to slip out of their sockets. If that were to happen, the wipers would stop working, which could ultimately increase the risk of a crash.
Unfortunately, GM still hasn't devised a fix for this problem, and company's schedule for notifying owners and repairing vehicles hasn't been provided to NHTSA.
