2013-2014 Jaguar XF, XJ, XK Recalled (Plus Two 2014 Range Rover Evoques)
JAGUAR RECALL
Jaguar Land Rover North America has issued a recall for select 2013 and 2014 models of the Jaguar XJ, XF and XK.
According to a bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the affected vehicles' toe links can become separated from the cars' subframe. That's important because the toe links are used to control the alignment of the rear wheels.

In a letter to NHTSA, the automaker explains the problem more fully:
"In the event of prolonged aggressive driving with frequent lateral and braking force inputs it is possible that the rear toe link will separate from the rear sub-frame. Once separated, the orientation control of the affected rear wheel is lost and the wheel will cant inboard or outboard depending on the direction of vehicle turn. In this condition, vehicle stability will be compromised and the degree of directional control minimized, this significantly increases the risk of an accident."
The recall affects 297 vehicles registered in the U.S., all of which were manufactured at the automaker's Castle Bromwich Assembly Plant in the U.K. between November 2012 and January 2014 Jaguar Land Rover. A list of VINs included in the recall can be found in this PDF.
Jaguar Land Rover say that it will begin notifying owners about the recall around May 27, 2014. At that time, owners will be able to take their vehicles to a Jaguar dealer, who will replace the nut and the washer assembly on the rear toe links, free of charge.

LAND ROVER RECALL
In a separate and seemingly unrelated recall, Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling two -- yup, just two -- 2014 models of the Range Rover Evoque. In a bulletin, NHTSA explains that "The bolts connecting the right hand rear suspension link arm may have been damaged during vehicle production". As with the toe links mentioned above, link arms help control the direction of the vehicle, and if they're disabled, drivers will find it increasingly difficult to steer, increasing the risk of a crash.

The two models were manufactured between November 27 and December 4, 2013 and have the VINs SALVP2BG0EH868007 and SALVT2BG1EH869937. If you own one of them, you should receive a recall notice in May of this year, at which time you can take your Evoque to a Land Rover dealership, where the connecting bolts on the right rear suspension link arm will be replaced, free of charge.
