15 easy ways to get free stuff online today
15 easy ways to get free stuff online today

It's amazing how much further your budget can go if you get a bunch of stuff for free. You just have to know where to look.

We did the hard part for you and found these 17 places to get everything from food to diapers to gift cards without paying a cent.

Now it’s up to you to accept the challenge: How much can you get for free this month?

1. Try free loose leaf tea

Open Door Tea is a women-led, family-run tea room in Stratford, Connecticut. In addition to tasty meals and craft drinks in-house, the business sells loose leaf teas and teaware online — and they’re happy to let you “try before you buy.”

Order up to three free tea samples of any variety (subject to availability), and just pay for shipping.

One sample bag includes two to four servings of tea, so these samplers could get you through a lot of fancy tea parties.

2. Load up on free baby formula

Sign up for Similac’s Strong Moms Rewards program to get up to $400 worth of free formula samples, coupons and other benefits throughout the year.

You can sign up for freebies based on your baby’s needs, including Alimentum for babies with allergies and NeoSure for babies born prematurely.

3. Get free gift cards for spending time online

The site Swagbucks pays you in gift cards and cash for completing everyday activities online, like shopping, watching videos and taking surveys.

You can even get rewarded just for searching online through its Yahoo-powered search engine.

All you need to sign up for Swagbucks is an email address. Once you do, you’ll get emails with offers you’re likely to qualify for, and you’ll earn points when you complete activities — which you can usually do in just a few minutes.

When you’re ready, redeem your points for gift cards at major retailers like Amazon and Walmart, or for cash via PayPal.

4. Get free makeup in the mail

Join L’Oreal’s Consumer Participation Panel to get a first look at makeup, hair and skincare products from L’Oreal, Matrix, Garnier, Maybelline, Redken and more beauty brands.

You can sign up easily online, and within two weeks, you’ll receive a user ID and password for your online consumer panel account.

You’ll get products in the mail to test, then fill out questionnaires about your experience.

5. Get up to $35 in free baby stuff from Amazon

Expecting?

Set up a baby registry on Amazon, and you’ll get a free welcome box with up to $35 worth of fun stuff for baby and parents.

The contents of your box are a surprise, so we can’t say for sure what you’ll receive. But we know baby registry gifts usually include free samples or full-size versions of things like formula, bottles, diapers, nursing supplies and more.

An Amazon baby registry also includes the option to list items from other sites, facilitate group gifting and get a 10% discount on items left on your registry after all the gifts have been bought.

6. Win free stock in companies like Apple or Zynga

Several investing apps will give you a free stock just for signing up, including one that allows you to invest with just your "spare change."

However, some of these freebies are worth more than others.

When you sign up for a free account with Robinhood, you’ll get a share chosen at random from the most popular stocks on the platform. Most users get a share worth between $2.50 and $10, but a lucky few will get a stock worth up to $225.

A Robinhood account charges zero commission fees. The app makes it easy to start investing, whether you want to make your own trades or use ready-made funds designed to meet your investment goals.

7. Listen to recordings of today’s bestsellers

Love a good audiobook to help you get to sleep at night, or listen to while driving to work in the mornings? Sign up for a 30-day free trial with Audiobooks.com.

You’ll get your first book free, plus two bonus books from the VIP selection and unlimited access to audio news, magazines, summaries and the sleep and meditation section.

Once your trial is over, it costs $14.95 a month to enjoy one audiobook and one bonus VIP book each month.

8. Grab a free supply of cloth diapers

Apply with Share the Love to get a set of cloth diapers for your baby for free.

Low-income families who receive assistance through programs like WIC or TANF may be eligible for free diapers through this program from the CEO of cloth diaper company Cotton Babies.

You can pick up your free diapers from a host location near you or get them in the mail for a small shipping fee. You’ll get the diapers on loan for an extended period and need to return them by a set date to potentially receive a new set as your baby grows.

9. See your credit score for free anytime you want

Credit bureaus are only required to send you a free credit report once every 12 months — and, heads up, that report doesn’t include your credit score.

But you can see your credit score and up-to-date credit report for free in two minutes using Credit Sesame.

You can sign up for Credit Sesame with just an email address (no credit card information required). You’ll have to enter some personal information to retrieve your credit history, but no worries — the company is BBB rated A+ and uses bank-level security to protect your financial data.

With a free account, you’ll see your credit score and your credit history laid out in an easy-to-understand “credit report card” that shows you exactly how to maintain or improve your score. Plus you’ll get free credit monitoring to alert you to important changes to your report, including potential fraud or identity theft.

10. Give your kid free books (courtesy of Dolly Parton)

Dolly Parton is a national treasure — for far more than her dazzling tunes and sparkling attire.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library mails free books to children ages 0 to 5 years old all over the world.

Sign up for a program in your area to receive a free children’s book in the mail every month at no cost to you. Your kids will love getting the package in the mail and discovering their new book.

11. Get free products for diverse hair and skin types

ThePinkPanel is a consumer testing panel for women and nonbinary folks in the U.S. that sends you free makeup, hair, skincare and personal care products to test at home.

Fill out this survey to sign up and let the company know what kinds of products you’re interested in.

If you’re approved, you’ll get product samples to use at home in exchange for feedback. For some products, you’ll even get paid for your feedback in addition to the freebies.

12. Buy food, get free gift cards

Fetch Rewards is an app that pays you for satisfying your snack cravings.

You’ll earn rewards when you buy groceries, eat at restaurants or shop at gas stations — where, we all can agree, the best snacks live. You can even earn for online shopping by linking your email and Amazon accounts.

When you shop or eat out, just snap a photo of your receipt with the Fetch app to earn your rewards. Redeem your rewards for free gift cards to popular brands like Amazon, Walmart and Starbucks.

13. Nab 10 free reusable nursing pads

No one says your nursing accessories can’t be fun and fashionable. Breast Pads makes 100% cotton, machine-washable, reusable nursing pads decked out in cute patterns.

You can get 10 pairs for free with the promo code 1FRUGALBABY.

The code gives you up to $35 off your order. To get 10 free pairs, order five four-packs (two pairs each), and enter the code at checkout. You may have to pay for shipping, and you can also choose whether or not to pay $0.98 for shipping protection.

14. Get free tampons — but act fast

Norton Hurley, a company that makes products for periods and incontinence, is giving away samples of its new COSMEA line of organic period products for free.

You can request tampons, pantyliners or pads and have them shipped to you for free anywhere in the U.S. It’s giving away just 150 samples, so sign up fast before supplies are gone.

The company also gives away free adult diaper samples but, at time of writing, has run out until December.

Want to start investing without the hassle and expense of old-timey brokers?

Stash is a simple app that helps you build wealth with as little as $5 — and it’ll even kick in $5 to get you started.

Through the app, you can play day trader and buy stocks (or pieces of them) from your favorite companies, or you can let Stash handle the hard stuff and manage your portfolio for you. Set up investment accounts for yourself and your kids, open an IRA to save for retirement and use a Stash debit card to earn free stocks whenever you spend money.

You’ll pay no commissions to invest with Stash, just a monthly membership fee between $1 and $9, depending on which features you want to use.
