$100 million in damages caused by severe August storm

$100 million in damages caused by severe August storm

The Insurance Bureau of Canada says this month's heavy rain, strong winds and hail storms resulted in more than $100 million in damage.

Hail and wind gusts up to 105 km/h hour blew through Calgary on Aug. 4 and 5.

Emergency crews responded to more than 400 calls for help, dealing with everything from flash floods to fallen trees. At least 20,000 Enmax customers were without power for several hours and hundreds of LRT riders were left stranded.

No injuries were reported during the storm.
