0x, the zero exchange protocol

A historical overview of 0x

0x is a protocol built on the Ethereum blockchain aimed at facilitating peer-to-peer exchanges of Ethereum-based assets. The protocol was created by Will Warren, a structural engineering Ph.D. drop out, and Amir Bandeali, a former DRW trader.

Warren was a student at the University of California, San Diego when Ethereum was first announced to the world. According to Warren, “when Ethereum came out, it struck me as the most important invention since the Internet, and I really quickly lost interest in everything else.” In June 2016, Warren decided to drop out of his Ph.D. program and focus his time on Ethereum, creating a tokenized derivative product.
