U.S. Stocks Little Changed Amid Positive Corporate Earnings

The S&P 500 edged lower Thursday, as the latest round of corporate-earnings reports offered some support to a stock market reckoning with yet another trade volley. The broad index struggled to gain traction, even after shares of several companies, including telecommunications firm CenturyLink and energy-drink maker Monster Beverage, rose following upbeat earnings results. After wobbling most of the day, the S&P 500 fell for a second consecutive session.
