Howard County police increased officers' presence on Monday in an area of Columbia where detectives are investigating a homicide and a double-shooting. County police identified a man who was found dead over the weekend in a car parked behind an office building in Columbia as Kendrick McLellan, 26, of Baltimore. Police said officers making routine area checks around 2:14 a.m. Saturday in the 8800 block of Centre Park Drive found McLellan with gunshot wounds in the car. The circumstances of the shooting, including when it occurred, are unknown. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information.
A Pikesville church was heavily damaged Monday morning after a fire ripped through its steeple. Firefighters were called around 9:45 a.m. to the St. Paul Praise and Worship Center in the 500 block of Reisterstown Road.
