This website will tell you where to vacation depending on your budget

Some of us scrimp and save for a dream vacation with that one great destination in mind; maybe it’s to walk through Paris at midnight, or surf the shores of Australia’s Gold Coast. For the rest of us, though, once we’ve saved up a tidy little chunk of change, there’s on big question that looms: Where would you like to go?

There’s now a website that will come up with that answer for you.

Wherefor approaches the concept of travel a little differently; instead of sifting through sites like Expedia or Travelocity, which require you to input a destination, Wherefor searches based on how much you’d like to spend and the dates you’d like to travel. The site asks how much you’d like to spend, hotel and flight combined, for your trip, how many people are going, the dates you’d like, and the city you’ll be departing from (note: prices are in USD, and there’s no option to change to your local currency).

The site searches through available destinations, and then gives you a map of places you could visit on your budget. Click on a city, and you’ll see the cheapest flight and the best hotels to fit within what you want to spend, with an option to change either, or to go ahead and book right away.

This probably isn’t for you if you’re the kind of person who likes to meticulously plan out every moment of your trip, and do hours and hours of research on Trip Advisor beforehand to make sure you’re picking the best hotel. If you’re just interested in going somewhere, though, it’s a great tool to see what’s in your price range.
