In 2008, Apple’s App Store launched with the promise that whatever you were looking for, they’d have “an app for that.” Nearly a decade later, that promise has been more than delivered.
Now, with over 2.2 million apps in Apple’s App Store and even more on competitor Android’s Google Play, experts at home and abroad say smartphone users are finally starting to feel overwhelmed. That’s causing app use to stall among consumers in major markets, including Canada, they say.
“What we’re seeing right now in the app space or digital domain is people looking for help or looking for different ways to create some streamlining, structure and order,” KPMG partner Andrew Dooner tells Yahoo Canada Finance.
