| The investment seeks a high level of current income consistent with prudent investment risk. The fund invests normally at least 80% of assets in mortgage and mortgage-related securities, including investment-grade securities representing interests in pools of mortgage loans, CMOs, commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBSs), stripped mortgage-backed securities and asset-backed securities. It invests in the securities of domestic and, to a lesser extent, foreign issuers. The fund may also invest in interest rate derivatives primarily for hedging purposes. |
