Par Pharmaceutical Companies also offers Megace ES, a branded drug product for the treatment of anorexia, cachexia, or any unexplained significant weight loss in patients with a diagnosis of AIDS; and megestrol acetate oral suspension, NanoCrystal. It has a joint venture with Rhodes Technology to research, develop, commercialize, and market pharmaceutical preparations for human therapy; a collaboration agreement with IntelliPharmaCeutics Corp. for the development and marketing of controlled release generic drug products; and a collaboration agreement with Actavis Group the development of four generic extended release products, including Nifedipine XR, Methylphenidate LA, Zolpidem CR, and Alfuzosin.
