In addition, the company supplies various alternative risk and other financial products, including structured reinsurance of property and casualty risks, weather derivatives, and total return swaps referencing asset backed securities for insurance companies, financial institutions, and industrial companies. Further, PartnerRe provides reinsurance coverage to primary life insurers and pension funds with respect to individual and group life and health risks; insurers who issue annuity contracts offering long-term retirement benefits to consumers seeking protection against outliving financial resources.
