The company's Vascular segment offers coronary, endovascular, and peripheral stents and related delivery systems; stent graft systems; distal embolic protection systems; and balloon angioplasty catheters, guidewires, guide and diagnostic catheters, and accessories to treat coronary artery disease, aortic and thoracic aneurysms, and peripheral vascular disease. The company's Diabetes segment provides external insulin pumps and related consumables, glucose monitoring systems, and subcutaneous glucose sensors to treat diabetes. Its Cardiac Surgery segment offers perfusion systems; positioning and stabilization systems; and products for the repair and replacement of heart valves, surgical accessories, and surgical ablation products. The company's ENT segment provides tissue-removal systems and other surgical instruments, implantable devices, nerve monitoring systems, disposable fluid-control products, image-guided surgery systems, and Meniere's disease therapy device. Its Physio-Control segment offers external defibrillation and emergency response systems. Medtronic sells its products to hospitals, clinics, third party healthcare providers, and governmental healthcare programs and group purchasing organizations. The company was founded in 1949 and is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
