Its storage standard product solutions include Fibre Channel, Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS), Serial ATA, and SCSI standard products, such as host adapter ICs for motherboard and adapter applications, SCSI and SAS expander ICs, storage adapter boards, and Fusion-MPT software drivers for these product families. LSI offers storage custom solutions to customers who develop Fibre Channel storage area network switches and host adapters, storage systems, hard disk drives, and tape peripherals. In addition, the company offers system-on-a-chip silicon solutions used in the design of communications equipment. LSI's Storage Systems segment provides storage systems, sub-assemblies, and storage management software that operate within open operating systems. It also offers direct-attach RAID solutions, such as integrated RAID in its storage IC and adapter products; software-based RAID products; and MegaRAID products that encompass integrated single-chip RAID on motherboard solutions, and PCI and PCI Express RAID controller boards. LSI sells its products to original equipment manufacturers through direct sales force and channel customers worldwide. The company, formerly known as LSI Logic Corporation, was founded in 1980 and changed its name to LSI Corporation in April 2007. LSI is headquartered in Milpitas, California. |
