The company offers circuit switched telephony services and voice-over-Internet-protocol (VoIP) telephony services in Austria, Chile, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, and the Netherlands; and VoIP services in the remaining countries. It also provides mobile telephony services using third party networks in select markets. In addition, Liberty Global owns programming networks that provide video programming channels to multi-channel distribution systems owned by the company and third parties. As of December 31, 2006, it owned and operated networks that passed through 27.6 million homes, as well as served 12.9 million video subscribers, 3.8 million broadband Internet subscribers, and 2.7 million telephony subscribers.
