This segment also provides systems design, development, integration, and support services. The Services segment provides fingerprinting services to federal and state governments, and commercial enterprises, primarily financial institutions that require criminal background checks and screening. The company also provides government and security consulting services, which include counterterrorism, homeland defense, due diligence, information sharing and analysis, physical and personal security, personnel surety, counterintelligence, vulnerability assessment, forensic accounting, crisis management, and operational support. L-1 Identity offers its products and services through a direct sales force, strategic partnerships, and alliances in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific. It has partnership with Ultra-Scan Corporation for the development and supply of a live scan biometric fingerprint reader based on ultrasonic imaging technology. The company was founded in 1992. It was formerly known as Viisage Technology, Inc. and changed its name to L-1 Identity Solutions, Inc. in 2006. L-1 Identity Solutions is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut. |
