Further, BioMarin Pharmaceutical evaluates preclinical development of various other enzyme product candidates for genetic and other diseases, as well as an immune tolerance platform technology to overcome limitations associated with the delivery of existing pharmaceuticals. The company also holds rights to receive payments and royalties related to Orapred (prednisolone sodium phosphate) and Orapred ODT (prednisolone sodium phosphate orally disintegrating tablets) subsequent to the sublicense of North American rights. It sells its products to specialty pharmacies, hospitals acting as retailers, and pharmaceutical wholesalers in the United States, Japan, and European Union.
