The company’s Sponsored Investments segment transports crude oil and other liquid hydrocarbons through common carrier and feeder pipelines; and transports, gathers, processes, and markets natural gas and NGL. This segment is also involved in the generation, transportation, and storage of energy with a renewable and alternative power generation capacity of 579 MW; crude oil transportation and storage; and natural gas transportation. The company was formerly known as IPL Energy Inc. and changed its name to Enbridge Inc. in October 1998. Enbridge Inc. was founded in 1949 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.
