Chrysler Canada workers in Windsor are pleased with the automaker's latest sales figures.
The Windsor-based company is reporting 31 consecutive months of year-over-year sales growth. It's the longest sales streak in the company's history.
The Dodge Grand Caravan built at the Windsor Assembly Plant set an all-time record sales month in June. Sales jumped 10 per cent over the same month last year.
Dino Chiodo is president of CAW Local 444, representing the workers who build the vehicle.
"I want to caution people that although Chrysler is coming out of where it was, with the depths of the problems they were having there are still obstacles to overcome," Chiodo said. "But it's nice to see 31 straight months of growth."
Chrysler's Dodge Grand Caravan and the Ram truck are two of the top-five best-selling vehicles in the country.
"It's excellent to see. It's an excellent unit. It's quality is second to none," Chiodo said of the minivan. "It makes us happy to know we're building a vehicle people want."
