TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - March 02, 2015) - On March 4, Bay Street's sharpest minds will challenge their peers to a game of SCRABBLE® at Frontier College's 11th annual SCRABBLE® Corporate Challenge, presented by TMX Group.

Hosted by David Chilton, the tournament attracts leaders from Canada's banks, investment, technology, accounting, and law firms for a one-night, no spellcheck SCRABBLE® competition in support of Frontier College, Canada's original literacy organization. Frontier College provides literacy programs for Canadians through a network of thousands of volunteers from coast to coast to coast.

"It is vitally important that, as Canadians, we are aware of the importance of literacy and how it relates to the well-being and productivity of all people in our country. Literacy is crucial to the success of our economy, and low literacy skills are directly linked to poverty, poor health and high unemployment. Frontier College works in communities across Canada to give people the skills and confidence they need to reach their potential. The support of TMX Group and Bay Street makes an incredible difference," says Sherry Campbell, President & CEO, Frontier College.

Players will rack up triple word scores to vie for the coveted TMX Cup and the opportunity to open the Toronto Stock Exchange on March 10. PCK Perry + Currier Inc. will defend their 2014 TMX Cup title.

"TMX Group is proud to once again be the title sponsor of Frontier College's SCRABBLE® Corporate Challenge," says Lou Eccleston, CEO, TMX Group. "We salute the College's important work in improving literacy rates among children, youth and adults in communities across Canada."

A tournament based on the word game SCRABBLE® is the perfect event to bring awareness to low literacy rates in Canada. Since 2005, the tournament has raised over 2.5 million dollars for Frontier College.
