Red Bull Tour Bus Returns to Bring Canada's Favourite Bands Back to Their Hometowns
Bus Will Travel From Victoria to Montreal This Summer, Converting Into a Live Sound Stage for a Series of Free Public Shows
TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - April 16, 2014) - After its debut last season, the Red Bull Tour Bus is set to hit the highways across Canada once again this summer starting on May 17th with an all-new lineup of artists and tour stops. From coast-to-coast, the legendary bus will transform into a fully operational soundstage bringing some of Canada's favorite bands back to their hometowns for a series of FREE outdoor shows.
The month-long series kicks off in Victoria with a performance by local folk and roots-rock hero's, Current Swell who return to their hometown after touring the world for the better part of five years. The Tour Bus then heads into the mountains making a stop in Kelowna for a guitar-driven dance party care of Yukon Blond. Heading across the Prairie's, Royal Canoe, arguably one of Canada's most eclectic pop bands will visit Winnipeg with friends Imaginary Cities before international sensations Hollerado turn it up in Ottawa with their own brand of 90's inspired high-impact melody making. The tour ends with a final stop in Montreal where Young Galaxy will perform songs from their latest album Ultramarine, full of shining, glimmering electronic pop along with support from Pants and Animals.
THE BUS THAT ROCK AND ROLL BUILT
The first of its kind in Canada, the Red Bull Tour Bus transforms into a complete sound stage. The bus itself is comprised of three separate parts; 1967 GM Transit bus (front end), 1974 Silver Eagle (rear 3/4 of bus), and sits on a modern 2012 Freightliner Chassis. Taking nine months to build, the bus morphs into a concert stage fully equipped with a 120,000 watt concert grade sound system. To create the stage, the side of the bus was modified with a hydraulic life system to raise the roof 35-feet above the ground and extend a stage floor 17-feet wide by 15.5-feet deep. Not enough? It also features a fully equipped green room in the back for bands to chill, two 37-inch flat screens, hardwood floors and LED back lighting. In as little as 25 minutes, the bus flips from 45-foot long road warrior to a full on rock arena.
