Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 operates full Windows operating systems
Microsoft's Windows 10 release explains exciting features (Part 5 of 11)
Expected launch of the Surface Pro 4
According to Design & Trend, Microsoft’s (MSFT) Surface Pro 4 is expected to be released in two sizes. As we mentioned earlier in this series, one of the models will have a 12-inch screen with a resolution of 2160×1440 pixels. The other model will likely be a Surface Pro Mini tablet with an 8-inch display.
The Surface Pro Mini is expected to face stiff competition. Google’s (GOOG) (GOOGL) Nexus tablets and Apple’s (AAPL) iPad Mini already have a strong hold in this space.
If Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 is successful, it will benefit Microsoft investors. It will also benefit ETFs like the Powershares QQQ Trust ETF (QQQ) and the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK). These ETFs have 8% and 9.61% exposure to Microsoft, respectively.
Fourth generation tablet-laptop hybrid gadget
The Surface Pro 4 will be Microsoft’s fourth generation tablet-laptop hybrid gadget. It’s a tablet that’s fully equipped with the hardware and ports comparable to a laptop. It also provides a detachable and kickstand keyboard. At any point, it can be converted into a laptop.
The key distinguishing feature for the Surface Pro 4 is that unlike other tablets with keyboard peripherals, the Surface Pro line operates full Windows operating systems. It can also install regular programs. This hybrid gadget can be compared to the Asus Transformer Book V. The Transformer Book V allows users to dock their smartphone on the laptop’s lid. They can run Google’s Android and Windows simultaneously.
