The current Nexus 7 model only sports a WiFi radio, and costs $200 for the 8GB model and $250 for the 16GB model. The only difference in the new model is the 3G connectivity, while the rest of the hardware is expected to remain the same.

While is yet to release figures of the Nexus sale, Gartner estimated that between 1 million and 1.5 million units were sold. Tech-Thoughts put the total sales of the Galaxy Nexus 7 at between 6 million and 8 million units by the end of 2012. In comparison, the Kindle Fire had sold approximately 5 million units, according to analyst estimates.

Meanwhile here’s a bit more about Baidu, China’s biggest search engine. The company has released a new Internet browser for mobile devices running Google’s Android system that allows users to play Web games and watch videos without a media player.

The Baidu Explorer was announced at its annual developer conference in Beijing. The program is about 20 percent faster, on average, than previously available mobile browsers. Baidu’s search engine service is under threat from Qihoo 360 Technology that launched its search engine in the country in August.

In the second quarter, Baidu accounted for 78.6 percent of China’s search-engine market by revenue, compared with 15.7 percent for Google, according to estimates by researcher Analysys International in Beijing.

Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL - News) plans to finish off Samsung if reports are to be believed. The Cupertino company has filed documents in a court to add the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S IIIA to the list of devices it says infringed on its patents. This is not the same court which had earlier awarded it more than a billion dollars in damages and found Samsung guilty of violating its mobile phone patents.

The Galaxy Note tablet is also included in a new list of 21 gadgets submitted to a court in California. If the new court initially finds infringement, it has the power to halt Galaxy sales in the US before trial.
