SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
First 5 California, in partnership with local counties, is offering new and expecting parents in California’s Asian communities its award-winning Kit for New Parents. This free parenting resource includes practical information on everything from prenatal care through the first five years of life.
Contents include a comprehensive guide for the first five years, a health and illness handbook, a touch-and-feel baby book, and important information on literacy and learning, child safety, nutrition, discipline, developmental milestones, quality childcare and more. The free Kit, valued at $75, is available in four Asian languages including Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean and Vietnamese, as well as in English and Spanish.
“Our goal is to ensure that families have the resources and confidence they need to set a strong foundation for their children as they learn and grow,” said Reneè Webster-Hawkins, First 5 California’s Interim Executive Director. “By providing these Kits, we’re able to provide hard-to-reach communities with crucial information on their child’s health in their primary language.”
“First 5 Los Angeles is committed to the well-being of children in our diverse communities and wants to ensure that expecting parents have the tools and local resources they need to raise healthy children who are ready to learn,” said Kim Belshe, First 5 Los Angeles Executive Director.
