Entry-Level Facebook Engineers Get A $100,000 Salary, $50,000 Signing Bonus, And $120,000 In Stock

That is to say, they're probably doing better than you are.

How much does Facebook pay a recently graduated software engineer?

Over on Quora, an anonymous user answered:  "I am graduating in the spring of 2012, and I was offered $100,000 in salary, a $50,000 signing bonus, $5,000 in relocation, and as [much stock] as necessary to be worth $120,000."

We've since had this answer confirmed with a second source familiar with Facebook compensation. Facebook PR declined to comment.

Pretty good right?

Where is OWS on this? Where are they? Oh, that's right, they all probably have a Facebook page while using technology from corporates like computers, phones, ipods, ipads, etc.!

    Carry on!

I agree. How can one complain about corporatism and simultaneously support it's rise.

never graduated period and made 182,000 last year. To hell wit the system everybody, you can do it alone, just be creative and apply yourself.
    • Evermore 3 months ago
but consider how many people can do what you do ???

probabaly 95% of who never graduated period,, are homeless or working low paying jobs right now....

there will always someone who will defy the tradition like you

      but majority will not........

      so nothing new here...

I think that's great for this person if this is their dream job. I know many engineers, software or otherwise, who were forced into their line of work by their parents. I personally, would rather make 50,000 a year and be happy with what I do than make 200,000 and be miserable. It's sad that we talk about salary before individual aspirations.

Get into the library and get the big book of grants, scholarships and loans (pssst, it's free). You would be amazed at the amount of money out there. Apply for financial aid with the FAFSA online (psssst, it's free too). Get on peterson's.com and make yourself an account and study for the SAT/CLEP/GRE (psssttt...free again). I did it, working 3 jobs and "piecing" money together for books and classes. The only one hold you back is Y-O-U!

Being happy in what you do is even better than making six figures, Julie. If you are surviving, these days, you're ahead of the game! Congrats to you!
    • Jason G 3 months ago
You can get grants based on income. If under 26 your parents income is reviewed unless you live by yourself for two years then your income is used. The grants will pay for college but not room and board. You can get loans for that or work your butt off going to school and working.
