Entertainment One Announces Plans to Reorganize Global Film Structure

Steve Bertram Joins as President, Global Film Group to Oversee Film Operations Patrice Theroux to Continue Relationship With Entertainment One Through Film and Television Development Deal

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM and TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 15, 2014) - Entertainment One (eOne) today announces the restructure of its global film business and the executive appointment of Steve Bertram, who joins the company in the role of President, Global Film Group, reporting to Darren Throop, Chief Executive Officer.

Bertram will lead film activities globally, including supervision of eOne's direct distribution operations in Canada, the UK, the US, Australia/New Zealand, Spain and the Benelux. He will also oversee the company's growing film production and international sales operations. With over 20 years of industry experience, a large network of relationships and unique expertise in digital media and new technology, Bertram will work to expand the company's partnerships, extend eOne's film production and distribution activities and enhance the group's market position around the globe.

"Our well-established film operation will undoubtedly benefit from Steve's business acumen, wide-ranging experience in global film distribution, production and financing, as well as his knowledge of emerging technology and evolving consumption trends. As we continue to successfully grow our global content platform, we are looking forward to having Steve on board," said Throop.

Bertram joins eOne from DreamWorks where he most recently led new business development and operations. Reporting directly to CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, Bertram was responsible for building and managing the company's new technology initiatives and strategic partnerships. Over the course of his career, Bertram held a number of key roles at DreamWorks including supervision of the company's London-based theatrical marketing and distribution activities, and serving as Chief Financial Officer of the privately held DreamWorks, LLC until the company's sale to Viacom in 2005. As part of the transaction, Bertram joined Paramount Pictures as President of Business Operations for the Home Entertainment division where he was responsible for worldwide distribution, manufacturing, finance, and business affairs. Bertram also served as President & COO of Relativity Media, overseeing the company's operations, global distribution, and financing activities.

The restructure will follow the departure of Patrice Théroux, who has decided to leave eOne to explore new opportunities in film, television and digital. Théroux, who currently oversees eOne's global Film division, will continue to work with eOne through a newly formed development deal which will see collaboration on both television and film projects for both the Canadian and international markets. Théroux will work with the company through a short transition period before his departure.

Since joining eOne in its most transformational period, Théroux helmed eOne's filmed entertainment activities, helping eOne evolve into the foremost independent film and television company in the world through organic growth and acquisition.

"While it's very difficult to bid adieu to eOne, I know that I leave each our film teams in the very strong and capable hands of our division leaders," said Théroux. "I am proud of the business we built and the very many talented partners I had the fortune of working with at eOne, relationships that will undoubtedly continue, and I am looking forward to my next adventures," said Théroux. "I would like to thank my partner Darren Throop for his support, dedication and trust as we brought our vision to life."

Théroux joined eOne in 2007 to helm eOne's Filmed Entertainment division.

"I've had the privilege of working closely with Patrice over many years, starting when we formed eOne's filmed entertainment business. While it is always difficult to say goodbye to colleagues, I am very pleased that we will continue to work together as Patrice moves on. Since joining eOne, Patrice has championed the team with vision, passion and a demand for excellence. In appreciation of his comradery, insight, and leadership, we wish to thank Patrice and look forward to working with him again," continued Throop.
