Bri-Chem Acquires Liquid Invert Drilling Mud Blending and Storage Facility in Clinton, OK, USA

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Nov. 25, 2014) -

NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO U.S. NEWSWIRE SERVICES OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE U.S.

Bri-Chem Corp. ("Bri-Chem" or "Company") (BRY.TO) a leading North American wholesale distributor and blender of oil and gas oilfield chemicals is pleased to announce that it has acquired a liquid invert blending facility in Clinton, Oklahoma. The acquisition of the liquid mud plant assets will enable Bri-Chem to enter the market swiftly as the facility is turn-key and the vendor provides hauling and transportation of the invert fluids to our customers' drilling locations.

A large constituent of Bri-Chem's customer base has shifted to a liquid invert based drilling fluid which has become a critical and interrelated part of the drilling operations. The development of liquid invert allows the flexibility for our customers to continually address the latest and most pressing drilling challenges such as reaching more remote reservoirs that are deeper and hotter. In late 2012, Bri-Chem opened its first liquid invert blending and storage facility in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania, USA and over the past 18 months it has been Bri-Chem's fastest growing warehouse throughout North America.

The Clinton facility will immediately be able to offer its blended liquid mud products to satisfy customer demand and further solidify customer relationships in the mid-continent region servicing the Springer shale, SCOOP play and Ardmore - Woodford shale plays. Bri-Chem will continue to evaluate other liquid mud blending and storage facilities in regions in the USA where demand for such products is continuing to increase.

"With our recent record Q3 sales in the USA drilling fluids distribution division, we are forging forward with additional expansion plans to increase our presence to service the USA unconventional resource plays," commented Don Caron, Chief Executive Office of Bri-Chem. "We now have eighteen USA warehouses and two strategic liquid invert mud plant facilities available to service the growing independent drilling fluid engineering companies in the USA market."
