RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Altruista Health, Inc., an innovative provider of care management and coordination technology solutions for health plans, health care providers and coordinated care organizations, announced today that it has been accepted as a Preferred Vendor by the Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP). Preferred Vendor status is granted by ACAP to organizations that are endorsed by at least one ACAP plan, and with no members saying they would not recommend the vendor.
“We are proud to support ACAP and its member plans,” said Ashish Kachru, co-founder and CEO of Altruista Health. “We believe ACAP plans will realize the significant value our GuidingCare platform can deliver by helping them maximize their limited resources and improve the health of their members.”
Altruista Health’s care management technology platform and data analytics solutions have been developed and optimized specifically for the Safety Net populations served by ACAP plans. Currently, Altruista Health counts the following ACAP members as clients:
- AlohaCare (HI)
- Affinity Health (NY)
- Colorado Access (CO)
- Denver Health Medical Plan (CO)
"Altruista Health understands what plans like ours require to manage care effectively in today’s collaborative, outcomes-based healthcare environment,” said Mike McKitterick, Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations for Colorado Access, an ACAP-affiliated plan and an Altruista Health client since 2009.
“ACAP-member Safety Net Health Plans are looking for innovative care management and data analytics tools to help deliver the right care to the right members,” said ACAP CEO Margaret A. Murray. “Altruista Health’s expertise in this regard stands to be a real asset to our health plans and we look forward to working with them through the Preferred Vendor program.”
The Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) is a national trade association representing 58 nonprofit safety net health plans in 24 states. ACAP’s mission is to represent and strengthen not-for-profit, safety net health plans as they work with providers and caregivers in their communities to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations in a cost-effective manner. Collectively, ACAP plans serve more than 10 million enrollees, representing more than 50 percent of individuals enrolled in Medicaid-focused health plans. www.communityplans.net
