Facebook is experiencing a global service outage this morning.

While the facebook.com website is available and mobile apps are functional, users around the world are reporting that they are unable to post new status updates, comment on existing ones, upload photos or send messages to each other.

The site reports the follow error message: "There was a problem updating your status. Please try again in a few minutes." The DownRightNow.com service confirms that the social media service is experiencing a “likely service disruption.”

Yahoo! Canada has reached out to Facebook for comment and will update this story as more information becomes available.
